Job Requirements
- Must have a culinary degree from a recognized institution
- Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in a hotel
- Previous supervisory experience required
- Knowledgeable in food and beverage preparation techniques
- Familiar with health and liquor laws
- Ability to work long hours
- Capable of medium physical work involving lifting up to 50 pounds
- Must maintain a warm and friendly demeanor
- Effective communication skills with employees and guests
- Must attend all required meetings and training
- Ability to participate in management on duty coverage
- Regular attendance in compliance with management standards
- Ability to handle problems proactively
- Maintain confidentiality
- Perform additional duties as required by management
Job Qualifications
- A 2-year, 3-year or 4-year culinary degree
- At least 5 years of progressive hotel culinary experience
- Previous supervisory responsibility
- Knowledge of food and beverage preparation techniques
- Understanding of health department rules and regulations
- Familiarity with liquor laws and regulations
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
- Experience in multitasking and prioritizing departmental functions
Job Duties
- Coordinate, supervise and direct all aspects of food production
- Maintain profitable food and beverage operations
- Provide training for all culinary staff
- Meet corporate quality standards
- Establish and enforce food specifications, portion control, recipes and sanitation standards
- Control food and labor costs
- Maximize guest satisfaction
