Job Requirements

  • Equivalent experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree or diploma
  • Must have culinary arts education or chef certification or formal culinary training
  • Certified dietary manager
  • SS-Serve Save Certified
  • Minimum of 5 years recent relevant experience required
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team
  • Ability to instruct in culinary phases
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Knowledge of food production and delivery processes
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and food service software
  • Ability to maintain safe food environments
  • Strong communication skills
  • Knowledge of hazard analysis critical control point guidelines

Job Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in culinary arts or equivalent education or chef certification or formal culinary training
  • Certified Dietary Manager
  • SS-Serve Save Certified
  • Five years recent relevant experience
  • Ability to lead and motivate staff
  • Ability to instruct in culinary activities
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Knowledge of food production and delivery processes
  • Marketing and promotion skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and relevant food service applications
  • Knowledge of maintaining safe food environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of HACCP guidelines and procedures

Job Duties

  • Provide overall management and direction to food production and storage operations
  • Plan, organize, staff, and control daily food production functions
  • Participate in planning and standardizing operational changes and cost-saving initiatives
  • Hire, schedule, and evaluate staff under direct supervision
  • Perform sanitation, safety, quality, and security checks to ensure departmental and regulatory compliance
  • Monitor and supervise food service areas in the absence of higher management
  • Collaborate with other managers in planning special functions and menus for cafeterias, catering, and patient meal service
