Job Requirements

  • Long hours sometimes required
  • Medium work involving exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or 20 pounds frequently or constantly

Job Qualifications

  • A 2-year, 3-year, or 4-year culinary degree
  • At least 5 years of progressive experience in a hotel culinary environment
  • Previous supervisory experience
  • Knowledge of food and beverage preparation techniques
  • Familiarity with health department rules and regulations
  • Understanding of liquor laws and regulations
  • Effective communication skills both verbal and written
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards in food quality and service

Job Duties

  • Coordinate and supervise all aspects of the hotel’s food production
  • Maintain profitable food and beverage operations
  • Provide training for all kitchen staff
  • Ensure compliance with corporate quality standards
  • Establish and enforce food specifications, portion control, recipes, and sanitation
  • Control food and labor costs while maximizing guest satisfaction
  • Attend hotel-required meetings and participate in management coverage
  • Maintain regular attendance and comply with management standards
  • Handle and solve problems effectively including anticipating and preventing issues
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
  • Perform other duties as requested by management
