Job Requirements
- More than two years of post high school education
- Five to ten years of employment in related positions
- Advanced knowledge of food service principles and management
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Ability to hear machinery sounds and communicate with employees
- Excellent vision
- Physical ability to lift 30-35 pounds several times per shift
- Full mobility to inspect kitchen and monitor environment
- Ability to stand continuously for extended periods
- Capability to work in extreme temperature conditions
Job Qualifications
- More than two years of post high school education, but less than a degree from a four-year college
- Five to ten years of related employment experience in food and beverage management
- Advanced knowledge of principles and practices within the food profession
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Moderate hearing and excellent vision
- Excellent comprehension and literacy for budget analysis
- Experience managing people and complex kitchen operations
Job Duties
- Plan and manage kitchen staff in the procurement, production, preparation and presentation of all food
- Manage long and short term planning and day-to-day operations of the kitchen
- Recommend menu and procedural changes
- Recommend budget and manage food and labor costs within approved budget constraints
- Adhere to all SOPs and food programs to ensure consistent, quality products
- Manage hiring, training, development, coaching, performance reviews, and discipline of kitchen staff
- Monitor and control kitchen and equipment maintenance and sanitation
- Develop and manage department budgets and control labor and food costs
- Develop and implement menus to improve revenues and profitability
- Execute and promote accident prevention programs
