Job Requirements

  • High school education or equivalent
  • At least 5 years of experience in culinary leadership
  • Ability to pass a full physical and background check
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and with a team
  • Compliance with safety, sanitation, and regulatory standards
  • Physical ability to perform job duties including standing, walking, lifting up to 30 pounds
  • Willingness to attend training and meetings
  • Ability to follow company policies including attendance and dress code
  • Ability to handle stressful situations and make decisions
  • Familiarity with computer systems like Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Commitment to maintaining professionalism and respect

Job Qualifications

  • High school education or equivalent
  • College courses or other education in food service and/or management preferred
  • Completion of an ADA approved course in quantity food purchasing, production, service and nutrition preferred
  • 5+ years experience in culinary and hospitality leadership positions in a high-volume, full-service restaurant
  • Strong culinary technique and respect for hospitality and team-driven work
  • Proven ability to manage financial performance including labor and food costs
  • Expertise in Microsoft Excel, Word, and email communication
  • Ability to pass a physical and background check
  • Ability to make complex mathematical calculations
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to make independent decisions
  • Experience with standard food production equipment
  • Good physical health
  • High degree of personal integrity and compassion toward older adults

Job Duties

  • Responsible for preparing all food items per recipes
  • Prepare a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, and other food items
  • Assume 100% responsibility for quality of products served
  • Stock and maintain line stations to assure a smooth service
  • Plan and coordinate food and supplies required for daily menus
  • Follow all safety procedures when handling kitchen equipment and comply with sanitation standards
  • Participate in menu development including cost management and sourcing premium ingredients
  • Lead, mentor and foster a culture of accountability, innovation and continuous elevation
  • Oversee back-of-house time management, recruitment, hiring and onboarding
  • Collaborate with Culinary Director on revenue and expense planning
  • Maintain budget including food cost and labor
  • Conduct detailed line checks and oversee food preparation and expediting
  • Ensure strict adherence to quality, safety and regulatory standards
  • Attend monthly dietary meetings and participate in in-service training
  • Greet residents, employees and guests warmly and maintain high professionalism
