Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years of culinary experience in a managerial role
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs
  • Capability to work 8-hour shifts standing
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Compliance with all HSEQ policies and safety protocols
  • Availability to work Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
  • Commitment to diversity and inclusion

Job Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited culinary institution preferred
  • Experience in operating a successful restaurant or corporate dining facility
  • SERV Safe certified or ability to become SERV Safe certified
  • Proven leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong knowledge of food safety and workplace safety regulations
  • Ability to plan and execute seasonal menus
  • Proficiency in using culinary software like NetMenu
  • Budget management experience
  • Ability to train and develop culinary staff

Job Duties

  • Utilize NetMenu to create seasonal, regionally inspired, plant forward recipes and menus with a minimum of 2 weeks available in the system at all times
  • Communicate the budget and support each Cafe lead in maintaining it
  • Ensure all menu offerings follow cafe specific, client approved programming as well as core program standards
  • Ensure all menus and recipes are accurately and efficiently prepared, cooked, and portioned for various meal periods including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and special/catered events
  • Maintain accurate production records both pre and post service
  • Prepare recipes using cooking techniques as outlined by ISS Guckenheimer
  • Ensure the highest quality of food is served
  • Use NetMenu Order Worksheets to purchase appropriate ingredients
  • Provide highest quality of service in accordance with ISS/Guckenheimer standards
  • Ensure employees have appropriate equipment, inventory, and resources to perform their duties
  • Notify management of ingredient discrepancies, food/equipment safety, or other concerns
  • Maintain and accurately operate all required NetMenu applications
  • Attend and participate in culinary leadership team meetings
  • Follow all company guidelines, SOPs, and policies daily
  • Adhere to all ISS/GEI procurement purchasing guidelines and SOPs
  • Maintain monthly inventory and documentation
  • Ensure proper labeling of all back of house products
  • Make final decisions for new back of house team members
  • Lead culinary training and validation as directed by Food Excellence/L&D
  • Train and develop BOH employees in NetMenu, operational standards, food safety, and workplace safety
  • Support General Manager with Personal Development Plans and performance reviews
  • Ensure proper documentation and corrective actions are taken when necessary
  • Align with General Manager on financial initiatives and targets including food, labor, and operating costs
  • Support General Manager in maintaining accurate financial records for variance calls
  • Ensure financial goals set by the Area Manager are met
  • Oversee all catered events ensuring operational standards and guidelines are followed
  • Coordinate service, delivery, and display setup for catering events
  • May perform other duties as needed
