Job Requirements

  • High school diploma
  • Minimum three years supervisory experience as an Executive Chef or equivalent role at a high-volume restaurant
  • Current and approved sanitation certification or ability to obtain within six months
  • Safe Food Handling certification
  • Seven plus years experience managing high volume commercial kitchens
  • Five plus years cooking experience in fine dining environment preferred
  • Ability to comply with federal, state, and local regulations
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to manage budgets and control operational costs

Job Qualifications

  • Culinary arts degree preferred
  • Minimum three years supervisory experience as an Executive Chef or equivalent role at a high-volume restaurant
  • Seven plus years managing high volume and fast paced commercial kitchens
  • Five plus years cooking experience in a fine dining environment
  • Experience in culinary leadership roles preferred
  • Current and approved sanitation certification or willingness to obtain within six months
  • Safe Food Handling certification

Job Duties

  • Supervises and oversees kitchen staff in food preparation and service following standard recipes, product specifications, menu planning, and portion sizes
  • Assists in the preparation and service of foods for special occasions and other departments
  • Assures special diet orders are completed following menu extension guidelines
  • Directs daily food production operations including menu planning, purchasing, ordering, inventory, and preparation
  • Oversees food portioning, garnishing, presentation, and safe storage
  • Orders food and kitchen equipment
  • Ensures cleanliness and organization of kitchen, equipment, storage areas, and dining room
  • Trains chefs and culinary staff, ensuring up-to-date certifications and providing technical expertise
  • Delegates authority, assigns tasks, monitors performance, and provides feedback and evaluations
  • Ensures compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation regulations and policies
  • Establishes and maintains a safe work environment and safety-related training
  • Manages budget controlling labor, inventory, equipment, and materials costs
  • Implements quality improvements and communicates standards to staff
