Job Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited culinary institution program or equivalent degree
  • Minimum of three to five years progressive experience in general culinary or healthcare foodservice management or equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • Ability to work effectively in a diverse, collaborative, and team-oriented culture
  • Ability to develop methodologies for data collection and analysis, audit program processes, monitor quality, identify problems and root causes, and make recommendations for improvement
  • Excellent leadership, analytical, organizational, planning, delegation, coaching, communication (verbal, written and interpersonal), and computer (MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) skills
  • Personal presence characterized by honesty, integrity, and caring with the ability to inspire and motivate others
  • Ability to be a self-starter and capable of independent work managing multiple conflicting priorities and demands
  • Ability to delegate responsibilities effectively and provide regular follow-up to meet objectives

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Oversee day-to-day management of culinary and sanitation activities for the Food and Nutrition Services department
  • Coordinate and direct all culinary functions including quality control and personnel management
  • Develop and maintain a culinary integrity program
  • Train, develop and cultivate kitchen staff talent through engagement and training
  • Collaborate with clinical dietitians to optimize patient care and co-develop wellness initiatives
  • Manage budgets, conduct monthly budget reviews, and prepare reports for senior management
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and regulatory standards including HAACP and Joint Commission criteria
  • Conduct program quality evaluations and manage customer satisfaction surveys
  • Interview, hire, train, appraise, counsel and supervise staff
  • Enforce policies, handle disciplinary actions and ensure completion of performance appraisals
  • Lead and participate in regional advisory councils to identify best practices and drive performance improvements
  • Manage multiple projects, develop project plans with milestones, and adapt to organizational changes
  • Ensure all culinary operations adhere to Trinity Health mission, vision, and values
  • Maintain accurate records, control cash handling, and ensure menu accuracy and recipe compliance
  • Oversee catered events planning and execution ensuring customer satisfaction and compliance
  • Promote safe working conditions minimizing workplace injuries and compensation claims
  • Foster a diverse and inclusive team environment with focus on skill development and career growth
