Job Requirements
- High school diploma
- Culinary Arts degree preferred
- Current sanitation certification or willingness to obtain within 6 months
- Safe Food Handling certification
- Minimum three years executive chef supervisory experience
- Seven plus years managing high-volume, fast-paced kitchens
- Experience in fine dining and culinary leadership preferred
- Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods
- Ability to work in temperature varied kitchen environments
- Attention to detail and manual dexterity
- Compliance with safety and sanitation standards
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Culinary Arts degree preferred
- Current or obtainable sanitation certification within 6 months of hire
- Safe Food Handling certification
- Minimum three years supervisory experience as an Executive Chef or equivalent
- At least seven years managing high-volume commercial kitchens
- Experience in fine dining and culinary leadership preferred
- Mastery of diverse kitchen stations, cooking methods, ingredients, and equipment
- Knowledge of current culinary trends and food presentation
- Proficient in time management and organizational skills
- Computer literacy including inventory management and record keeping
- Strong kitchen and staff management skills
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations for business needs
- Excellent communication skills with managers, staff, and guests
- Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays
Job Duties
- Supervises and oversees kitchen staff in food preparation and service following standard recipes and menu planning
- Assists in special food preparation requested by other departments and for special occasions
- Directs daily food production operations including menu planning, purchasing, ordering, and inventory management
- Oversees food portioning, garnishing, presentation, and safe storage while solving menu issues
- Orders food and kitchen equipment
- Ensures sanitation and organization of kitchen, equipment, storage, and dining areas
- Trains culinary staff and ensures certifications are up-to-date
- Supervises work activities, delegates tasks, and monitors operating standards
- Provides feedback and conducts performance evaluations
- Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, safety programs, and food safety procedures
- Manages budget and controls costs while implementing quality improvements
