Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • culinary or hospitality degree preferred
  • minimum 5 years of management experience in a food service environment
  • preferably senior living experience
  • ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
  • ServSafe Food Safety Manager certification or completion within 60 days
  • interest in working with seniors
  • capability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • strong organizational skills
  • willingness to work weekend and evening shifts
  • ability to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 50 pounds, standing and walking for extended periods
  • mobile and adaptable within the community
  • able to assist in emergencies
  • background clearance as required by regulations

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • culinary or hospitality degree preferred
  • minimum 5 years of management experience in a food service environment
  • experience in senior living preferred
  • ServSafe Food Safety Manager Certification or willingness to obtain within 60 days
  • strong supervisory and leadership skills
  • proficiency in computer programs including Microsoft Office
  • excellent communication skills
  • ability to remain composed in stressful situations
  • ability to manage budgets and inventories
  • knowledge of sanitation and food safety regulations

Job Duties

  • Plan and oversee community dining services with the Executive Director
  • coordinate menus for activity and marketing functions
  • control food cost and minimize waste
  • conduct inspections to ensure sanitation standards
  • engage with residents during meals
  • manage resident dietary requirements
  • order food and supplies within budget
  • prepare shift schedules for kitchen and front of house staff
  • assist meal preparation and cover absences
  • maintain cleaning schedules
  • document coaching and disciplinary actions
  • participate in sales process for potential residents
  • plan menus according to cultural and dietary preferences
  • adjust recipes and portion sizes
  • monitor food quality and consistency
  • supervise cooking and garnishing processes
  • validate food deliveries
  • conduct quality assurance audits
  • enforce safe food handling and loss prevention
  • recruit and train culinary staff
  • monitor expenditures and comply with budget
  • adhere to company policies and resident rights
  • report incidents immediately
  • foster constructive relationships with residents, families, and staff
  • maintain confidentiality
  • promote teamwork in dining services
