Job Requirements

  • 4 plus years of kitchen experience including one sous chef position
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Must obtain Food Handler’s Certificate within 30 days of hire
  • Must obtain ServSafe certification within 30 days if not already certified
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team

Job Qualifications

  • 4 plus years of kitchen experience in high volume restaurant or hotel operation including at least one sous chef position
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Creative thinking skills with ability to gain support from management peers and employees
  • Demonstrates teamwork and customer service focus
  • Strong organizational budgeting scheduling and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient with Word Outlook and Excel with ability to learn company systems
  • High level of professionalism and integrity
  • Outstanding interpersonal communication skills
  • Valid driver’s license or ability to obtain one

Job Duties

  • Supervise the preparation and presentation of all food items ensuring they meet Ascent Hospitality standards of excellence
  • Manage culinary staff including hiring scheduling training developing coaching and counseling employees
  • Maintain sanitation standards in compliance with brand and regulatory requirements
  • Ensure proper maintenance and functionality of all kitchen equipment
  • Control food costs through inventory management purchasing pricing portioning and waste reduction
  • Monitor inventory rotation to prevent spoilage and ensure stock accuracy
  • Schedule kitchen staff in alignment with staffing guidelines and forecasted needs
  • Enforce safety standards and report unsafe conditions promptly
  • Review financial transactions and monitor budget expenditures in coordination with Food and Beverage Director and General Manager
