Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Five or more years culinary experience in the hospitality industry
  • Food handler's permit as required by state law and company standards
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
  • Valid driver's license
  • Must comply with company motor vehicle policy standards
  • Ability to resolve problems of dissatisfied customers and employees
  • Position may require driving responsibilities using company or personal vehicle

Job Duties

  • Interviewing, hiring, training, developing, and performance managing kitchen staff
  • Scheduling hours, breaks, and meal periods for staff
  • Maintaining monthly and annual budgets for the Culinary Services department
  • Producing written documentation of monthly spend on food, supplies, and labor
  • Keeping inventory of kitchen supplies, small wares, and table ware
  • Ensuring purchasing standards are maintained and vendor relationships are strong
  • Preparing, storing, and serving food according to company and legal standards
  • Meeting regularly with residents and family members to maintain satisfaction
  • Training staff in high levels of customer service
  • Coordinating front and back of house staff to exceed food expectations
  • Working with community leadership to maintain customer satisfaction and health survey scores
  • Maintaining accurate documentation and submitting reports and invoices
  • Maintaining employee satisfaction and engagement scores
  • Delegating tasks to maintain cleanliness and quality in kitchen and dining areas
  • Conducting department meetings, in-services, and pre-meal stand ups
  • Ensuring proper use and maintenance of kitchen equipment
  • Assisting in planning and executing Engage Life events, banquets, and theme meals
  • Collaborating with sales team and community staff to market the community
  • Acting as manager on duty as required
  • Performing other duties as assigned
