Job Requirements
- High school education or equivalent
- Experience as supervisor or head cook preferred
- Ability to make moderately complex mathematical calculations
- Ability to follow approved standardized recipes and menus for regular and therapeutic diets
- Ability to make independent decisions without supervision
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to interact tactfully with residents, family members, staff and general public
- Experience with standard food production equipment
- Good physical health verified by health screening
- Compliance with safety and emergency procedures
- Compliance with property’s exposure control and blood borne pathogen standards
- Responsible for reporting and anticipating hazardous conditions
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift weights up to 80 pounds
- Ability to communicate directions clearly
- Ability to maintain professionalism and adhere to attendance policies
Job Qualifications
- High school education or equivalent
- College courses or education in food service or management preferred
- Completion of ADA approved course in quantity food purchasing, production, service and nutrition preferred
- Experience as supervisor or head cook preferred
- Ability to make moderately complex mathematical calculations
- Ability to follow approved standardized recipes and menus for regular and therapeutic diets
- Ability to make independent decisions without supervision
- Strong oral and written communication skills

Job Duties
- Prepare all food items per recipes
- Prepare a variety of meats, seafood, poultry and other food items
- Assume 100% responsibility for quality of products served
- Stock and maintain line stations to assure smooth service
- Plan and coordinate food and supplies required for daily menus
- Wash dishes during breakfast as time permits
- Follow all safety procedures when handling kitchen equipment
- Comply with sanitation standards
- Follow proper plate presentation and assure quality control
- Attend monthly dietary meetings and annual in-service training
- Wear clean uniform and nametag properly
- Adhere to employee handbook guidelines
- Greet residents, employees and guests warmly and respectfully
- Maintain professionalism in conduct and appearance
