Job Requirements

  • Equivalent experience accepted in lieu of degree
  • SS-Serve Save certification required
  • Certified Dietary Manager credential required
  • Five years of recent relevant experience
  • Knowledge of food production and delivery processes
  • Ability to lead and motivate teams
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Proficiency with food service computer applications
  • Knowledge of sanitation and safety standards
  • Ability to interpret data and schedules
  • Excellent communication abilities

Job Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in Culinary Arts or equivalent education/experience
  • Chef certification or formal culinary training
  • SS-Serve Save certified
  • Certified Dietary Manager
  • Minimum of 5 years recent relevant experience
  • Ability to lead and motivate staff
  • Skilled at instructing culinary activities and managing change processes
  • Strong customer service and marketing skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and food service software like Food Service Suite and Micros
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and HACCP guidelines
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills

Job Duties

  • Manage and direct food production and storage operations
  • Provide leadership and managerial support in planning and organizing day-to-day food production functions
  • Participate in planning and standardizing operational changes and cost-saving initiatives
  • Hire, schedule, and evaluate staff under direct supervision
  • Perform sanitation, safety, quality, and security checks to maintain department standards and compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
  • Monitor and supervise all food service areas in the absence of higher management
  • Collaborate with other managers to plan special functions and menus for cafeterias, catering, and patient meal services
