Job Requirements

  • Ability to work evenings, holidays and a weekend rotation
  • associates degree in Hotel/Restaurant/Institutional Management or a closely related field
  • 3-5 years of progressively responsible executive chef experience
  • willingness and ability to relate effectively to an educated and engaged resident community in a manner that embodies warmth, compassion, sensitivity, and enthusiasm
  • excellent oral and written communication skills
  • demonstrated commitment to providing top-tier customer service
  • strong operational management skills and commitment to mentorship and training staff
  • attention to detail, hospitality, customer service and cleanliness orientation
  • ability to develop and maintain professional relationships
  • commitment to safety and participating in safety committee meetings
  • ability to maintain corporate culture while holding employees accountable
  • strong working knowledge of a POS system

Job Qualifications

  • Associates degree (Bachelor's degree preferred but not required) in Hotel/Restaurant/Institutional Management or a closely related field
  • 3-5 years of progressively responsible executive chef experience
  • long-term care or healthcare experience preferred
  • excellent oral and written communication skills
  • demonstrated commitment to providing top-tier customer service
  • strong operational management skills combined with a commitment to mentorship and training staff
  • congenial communication style with the ability to develop and maintain professional relationships

  • strong working knowledge of a POS system

Job Duties

  • Embody and articulate the vision and mission of the organization inside and outside of the community
  • exercise the leadership and management skills necessary to ensure that Dunwoody Village's dining service program provides exceptional services and excellent food quality
  • lead the cooks, servers, and utility staff in a manner that consistently promotes decision-making collaboration and is based upon trust, openness, honesty, integrity, empowerment, and shared accountability for success
  • cultivate/maintain constructive communication with residents, residents' family members, and employees
  • develop and implement innovative menus that address the diverse and ever-changing dining needs and requests of our residents
  • provide leadership/direction in the maintenance and enhancement of a workplace culture that attracts, supports, empowers, and retains dining service employees
