Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 6 years experience in culinary, food and beverage, or related professional area
  • or 2-year degree from an accredited university in Culinary Arts, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major
  • 4 years experience in culinary, food and beverage, or related professional area
  • strong leadership skills
  • excellent oral and written communication skills
  • ability to work in fast-paced environment
  • knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
  • ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize
  • skilled in staff supervision and training

Job Duties

  • Lead kitchen management team
  • provide direction for all day-to-day operations
  • supervise and coordinate activities of cooks and food preparation workers
  • develop and implement purchasing and receiving guidelines
  • manage controllable expenses including food cost and supplies
  • monitor quality and presentation of food products
  • ensure compliance with food handling and sanitation standards
  • provide exceptional customer service and handle guest feedback
  • train and mentor kitchen staff
  • administer performance appraisals and discipline
  • collaborate with Banquet and Catering department on menu and training
