Job Requirements

  • Five or more years culinary experience in the hospitality industry
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Food handlers permit as required by state law or company standards
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
  • Valid driver's license
  • Must meet company motor vehicle policy standards
  • Able to resolve problems of dissatisfied customers and employees

Job Duties

  • Responsible for interviewing, hiring, training, developing, and performance managing assigned staff
  • Schedule hours, breaks, and meal periods
  • Maintain monthly and annual budgets for the Culinary Services department
  • Document monthly spend on food, supplies, and labor
  • Maintain inventory of kitchen supplies, small wares, and tableware
  • Ensure purchasing standards and vendor relationships are maintained
  • Ensure food preparation, storage, and service comply with company standards and legal requirements
  • Meet regularly with residents and family members to ensure satisfaction
  • Train staff to provide high levels of customer service
  • Ensure front of house and back of house staff collaborate closely
  • Work with community leadership to maintain customer satisfaction and health survey scores
  • Submit accurate reports and invoices regarding budget and other responsibilities
  • Maintain employee satisfaction and engagement scores
  • Delegate tasks to maintain high levels of cleanliness and quality
  • Conduct department meetings, in-services, and pre-meal stand ups
  • Ensure proper use and maintenance of equipment
  • Assist in planning and execution of special events, banquets, and theme meals
  • Collaborate with community sales and staff to market the community
  • Ensure kitchen and restaurant staff understand company expectations
  • Act as manager on duty as required
  • Perform other duties as assigned
