Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in culinary arts preferred or associate degree with five years' experience
  • minimum five years' experience as an Executive Chef within hospitality
  • current ServSafe Certification
  • strong leadership and organizational skills
  • ability to manage budgets and vendor relationships
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards

Job Duties

  • Assist in planning, preparation, and execution of special events, banquets, and theme meals
  • use innovation, imagination, originality, and talent to produce menus and recipes that utilize high-quality ingredients within budget
  • understand and maintain monthly and annual budgets for Food & Beverage, including documentation of spend on food, supplies, and labor
  • review and adjust menus to accommodate seasonal ingredients, supply chain changes, and cost variations
  • ensure purchasing standards are maintained and approved vendors are used
  • maintain strong relationships with vendors
  • accurately report and submit monthly inventory of food and beverage supplies
  • interview, hire, and train culinary and back of house staff
  • manage and supervise culinary and back of house staff including scheduling, performance reviews, hiring, and corrective actions
  • work with leadership to maintain customer satisfaction and health survey standards
  • ensure preventive maintenance for kitchen equipment
  • manage dietary needs and food safety policies
  • control food preparation to minimize waste
  • oversee maintenance of accurate daily records
  • provide ongoing culinary training
  • collaborate with hospitality manager to ensure cooperation between front and back of house staff
  • work closely with marketing and activities to coordinate special events
  • meet regularly with residents and families to maintain satisfaction
  • advise community leadership on resident concerns
  • assist with kitchen and restaurant staff operations as needed
