Job Requirements
- Degree in culinary arts
- at least five years of experience as an executive chef
- working knowledge of MS Office including Word and Excel
- ability to work in refrigerated and freezer environments
- ability to stand for eight or more hours
- ability to use hands for food preparation and related tasks
- ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
- ability to bend down or reach above eye level regularly
- reliable transportation
- reliable means of communication
Job Qualifications
- Degree in culinary arts
- minimum five years of experience as an executive chef
- strong knowledge of menu development and food production
- experience managing food and labor budgets
- proficiency with MS Office including Word and Excel
- excellent leadership and communication skills
- proven ability to maintain high hygiene and safety standards
- skilled in training and supervising kitchen staff
- ability to analyze and interpret business publications and technical procedures
- commitment to quality and innovation in food service
Job Duties
- Schedules and coordinates the work of chefs, cooks and other kitchen employees to ensure that food preparation is precise and within budgeted labor cost goals
- ensures that high standards of hygiene, cleanliness and safety are maintained throughout all kitchen areas at all times
- evaluates food products to ensure that company quality standards are consistently attained
- projects annual food, labor, and other costs and monitors actual financial results, taking corrective action as necessary to meet financial targets
- establishes and maintains controls to minimize food waste and theft
- approves requisition and purchase of food products and supplies
- implements measures to minimize food costs and exercises portion control
- develops and updates policies and procedures to enhance and measure quality
- maintains service principles in accordance with established standards
- establishes cleaning and maintenance schedules for kitchen areas and equipment
- interviews, selects, trains, supervises and disciplines kitchen employees
- develops, maintains and trains a professional workforce
- must be accessible during business hours
