Job Requirements
- Certification or college degree in culinary arts
- Minimum three years experience as a chef or kitchen manager
- Two years supervisory and management experience including hiring staff, coaching, performance management, and discipline
- Current Food Services Sanitation certificate
- Ability to handle multiple priorities
- Ability to delegate assignments effectively
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Competent organizational and time management skills
- Good judgment, problem solving, and decision-making skills
- Proficiency in computer skills including Microsoft Office and Sunrise applications
- Willingness to work weekends, evenings, and flexible hours
- Compliance with drug testing and health screening requirements.

Job Duties
- Lead overall food production, food presentation, menu development and planning, supervise dining services team members and manage labor
- Develop menus to community and regulatory standards
- Provide leadership in nutrition and therapeutic diets
- Adhere to product order guide and vendor programs
- Ensure meals and serving portions meet quality and portion control standards
- Facilitate food production, presentation, and sanitation training
- Monitor food quality, cooking methods, plating, garnishing, and service delivery
- Ensure HACCP compliance
- Oversee special events, banquets, catering, and other dining venues
- Maintain accurate food and equipment temperature records
- Ensure completion of cleaning checklists and food rotation standards
- Maintain production sheets, HACCP records, and daily logs
- Engage with residents regarding meal satisfaction and dietary needs
- Participate in Resident Counsel and food committee meetings
- Enforce safety and risk management policies, including PPE and food safety
- Assist with community budgeting and financial management of the department
- Recruit, hire, train, coach, and mentor dining services staff
- Manage labor scheduling, payroll review, and performance appraisals
- Attend regular meetings and maintain compliance with training requirements.
