Job Requirements
- Associate of Science degree or equivalent experience
- minimum five years progressive culinary or kitchen management experience
- demonstrated hands-on chef experience
- knowledge of food safety and sanitation protocols
- proficiency with Microsoft Office and related software
- ability to develop and manage budgets
- strong leadership and team management skills
- excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- commitment to customer service excellence
- ability to comply with health and safety regulations
- willingness to participate in client satisfaction programs
- ServSafe certification highly desirable
Job Qualifications
- Associate of Science degree or equivalent experience
- minimum five years progressive culinary or kitchen management experience
- extensive catering experience preferred
- experience in high-volume complex foodservice operations desirable
- institutional and batch cooking experience
- hands-on chef experience required
- comprehensive knowledge of food and catering trends focusing on quality, production, sanitation, cost controls, and presentation
- proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, email, and internet
- willingness to participate in client satisfaction programs
- ServSafe certification preferred
Job Duties
- Lead daily culinary production in meal preparation and food quality
- determine food presentation and create decorative displays
- provide direction on menu development and create seasonal specials
- source fresh food and monitor produce and meat freshness
- maintain product consistency through inspections
- research customer preferences and incorporate local flavors in menus
- prepare and cook various foods including special events
- demonstrate cooking techniques and equipment to staff
- supervise cooks and food preparation workers
- ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation standards
- set performance standards and monitor subordinate performance
- communicate and enforce safety procedures
- monitor quality of raw and cooked food products
- enforce food safety and sanitation guidelines
- maintain purchasing, receiving, and food storage standards
- participate in community business strategy development
- manage controllable department expenses
- implement purchasing and receiving controls
- analyze financial and operational information for business adjustments
- develop and manage department budget
- identify major revenue and expense opportunities
- control food, labor, and other expenses
- oversee food inventory and purchasing
- schedule staff based on forecasted volume
- create 100 percent resident satisfaction through training and resources
- maintain professional attitude and appearance engaging with residents and staff
- improve service by coaching and feedback
- support superior customer satisfaction behaviors
- empower employees to deliver excellent service
- ensure employees provide genuine hospitality and teamwork
