Job Requirements

  • bachelor's degree in culinary arts preferred or associate degree with equivalent work experience
  • minimum five years' experience as an executive chef
  • current ServSafe certification
  • strong leadership and management skills
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
  • knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
  • budgeting and inventory management experience

Job Qualifications

  • bachelor's degree in culinary arts preferred or associate degree with equivalent five years' executive chef experience
  • minimum five years' experience as an executive chef in hospitality industry
  • current ServSafe certification

Job Duties

  • assist in planning preparation and execution of special events banquets and theme meals
  • use innovation imagination originality and talent to produce menus and recipes that utilize the highest quality ingredients within food and labor budget
  • understand and maintain monthly and annual budgets including documentation of monthly spend on food supplies and labor
  • review and adjust menus to accommodate seasonal ingredients recipe improvements supply chain shortages and cost changes
  • maintain purchasing standards and approved vendor relationships
  • accurately report and submit monthly inventory of food and beverage supplies
  • interview hire train supervise and manage culinary and back of house staff including scheduling assignment performance review and corrective action
  • ensure preventive maintenance of kitchen equipment and proper use by staff
  • confirm food policies safety and sanitation procedures are followed
  • manage control of food preparation to avoid overproduction and waste
  • maintain accurate daily records
  • provide ongoing training in food preparation service and presentation
  • collaborate with Hospitality Manager and other staff for outstanding customer service and resident satisfaction
  • coordinate with Marketing and Activities for special events
  • meet with residents and families to maintain satisfaction
  • advise community leadership of any concerns
  • assist with back and front of house operations as needed
