Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in culinary arts, hospitality management, or related field preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in a high-volume culinary environment
  • Proven track record in leading kitchen teams and managing daily operations
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Availability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays

  • Knowledge of kitchen operations, food safety standards, and inventory management
  • Financial acumen with experience in budgeting, cost control, and performance analysis

Job Duties

  • Provide clear direction, organization, and accountability for all kitchen operations with a focus on excellence, consistency, and communication
  • Develop and mentor a culinary team grounded in professionalism, respect, and craftsmanship while fostering collaboration and pride in the work
  • Lead by example with a calm, engaged, and solutions-oriented presence on the line, guiding the team through each stage of service
  • Direct all aspects of daily kitchen operations including prep and service to ensure precision, consistency, and flow
  • Be an active presence on the line, guiding technique, flavor, and presentation to uphold Rooster's standards for craftsmanship and quality
  • Lead menu development and seasonal features that highlight ingredient integrity, wood-fired cooking, and the Rooster's philosophy of simplicity and restraint
  • Build relationships with purveyors and partners to source ingredients that reflect seasonality, sustainability, and excellence
  • Refine kitchen systems and standards that promote creativity, efficiency, and clear communication across all shifts and departments
  • Analyze financial performance, identify trends, and implement strategies that strengthen food and labor cost control
  • Maintain accurate forecasting and inventory management to support consistency and efficiency
  • Ensure resources are used responsibly, protecting company assets and maintaining equipment reliability
  • Work closely with the executive leadership team and attend financial performance meetings to review periods, align goals, and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Partner with front-of-house leadership to ensure unity in service, timing, and guest experience
  • Promote a culture of mutual respect, teamwork, and accountability that extends beyond the kitchen
