Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or associate degree with equivalent experience
  • minimum five years as Executive Chef
  • current ServSafe Certification
  • experience managing food service operations
  • strong leadership and staff management skills
  • excellent culinary skills and creativity
  • knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • ability to manage budgets and control costs
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Culinary Arts preferred or associate degree with minimum five years’ experience as Executive Chef
  • minimum five years' experience as Executive Chef in hospitality industry
  • current ServSafe Certification

Job Duties

  • Assist in planning, preparation, and execution of special events, banquets, and theme meals
  • use innovation, imagination, originality, and talent to produce menus and recipes utilizing high-quality ingredients within budget
  • understand and maintain monthly and annual budgets for food and beverage department, including documentation of monthly spend on food, supplies, and back of the house labor
  • review and adjust menus to accommodate seasonal ingredients, recipe improvements, supply chain shortages, rebates, contracted products, and cost changes
  • ensure purchasing standards are maintained and approved vendors are used
  • maintain strong relationships with vendors
  • report and submit accurate monthly inventory of food and beverage supplies
  • interview, hire, and train culinary and back of house staff
  • manage and supervise culinary and back of house staff including scheduling, assignment, direction, performance review, hiring, and corrective action
  • collaborate with Executive Director, Hospitality Manager, and department heads to maintain high customer satisfaction and health survey scores
  • ensure preventive maintenance programs for kitchen equipment
  • oversee dietary needs and restrictions compliance
  • enforce food policies including hygiene and safe food storage
  • control food preparation to minimize overproduction and waste
  • oversee maintenance of daily production records
  • provide ongoing training for kitchen staff in food preparation and quality
  • ensure plating and presentation meet company standards
  • collaborate with Hospitality Manager for teamwork between front and back of house
  • work with marketing and activities for planning special events
  • engage with residents and families regularly to ensure satisfaction
  • advise community leadership of resident concerns
  • assist kitchen and restaurant staff as needed
