Job Description

Job Requirements

  • Minimum five years experience as a culinary chef with lead chef responsibilities
  • Culinary arts degree or approved combination of education and experience
  • Ability to develop training materials and manage inventory
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and sanitation practices
  • State of Minnesota Food Manager certification and ServSafe Certificate or ability to achieve within six months
  • Availability to work weekday day shift
  • Ability to fulfill roles of cook or other food services staff when necessary

Job Qualifications

  • Five years of experience as a culinary chef with lead chef responsibilities working in hotels, resorts, clubs, restaurants, or healthcare
  • Culinary arts degree from a culinary arts institution or an approved combination of education and experience
  • Equivalent of two years of college preparation in culinary skills with training for quantity food preparation preferred
  • Minimum of five years of food preparation, service, and supervisory experience preferred
  • Certified Executive Chef by ACF preferred
  • State of Minnesota Food Manager certification and ServSafe Certificate or ability to achieve within six months of hire

Job Duties

  • Monitor price trends of raw materials and supplies, timing and quantity of purchases as well as monitor the storage, preparation, distribution, and service of food served in all food service operations
  • Maintain inventory to meet the need of supplies, equipment, and commodities
  • Develop training materials pertaining to proper sanitation including food storage, temperature standards, and food safety guidelines
  • Supervise, train, and direct production staff on daily tasks, duties assembly, and presentation of foods, ensuring that sanitization, food safety, and food quality standards are maintained by all regulatory agencies
  • Participate as a key contributor in menu planning (meal suggestions and recipes) for patient food services and retail operations
  • Hire non-exempt staff and conduct performance appraisals
  • Fulfill duties of cook or any other food services staff member when necessary
  • Perform other duties as assigned
