Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Six years of experience in culinary, food and beverage, or related professional area
- Two-year degree from an accredited university in Culinary Arts, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major
- Four years of experience in culinary, food and beverage, or related professional area
- Ability to speak, read, write, and understand the primary workplace language
- Ability to create marketing strategies and promotional menu items
- Positive attitude and leadership presence
- Ability to work full time
- Must comply with federal, state and local employment and civil rights laws
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 2-year degree from an accredited university in Culinary Arts, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related field
- Minimum 4 years experience in culinary or food and beverage professional area
- Demonstrated leadership and team management skills
- Ability to develop marketing strategies and promotional menu items
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Positive attitude and ability to serve as a leader within the hotel leadership group
Job Duties
- Responsible for the development and enhancement of the food product presented to guests
- Maintain quality of food product and ensure consistency in food delivery and standards
- Lead and develop culinary staff including training, performance appraisal, and disciplinary actions
- Review staffing levels to meet service and operational needs
- Supervise and coordinate food preparation activities
- Develop and implement purchasing and receiving guidelines
- Manage food costs, supplies, uniforms, and equipment expenses
- Work with vendors to obtain quality ingredients at reasonable prices
- Provide direction for menu development and food presentation
- Communicate and enforce safety procedures
- Interact with guests to obtain feedback on product quality and service
- Empower employees to provide excellent customer service
- Control departmental profit and loss
- Set margins and manage budget projections
