Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Six years of experience in culinary, food and beverage, or related professional area
  • Two-year degree from an accredited university in Culinary Arts, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major
  • Four years of experience in culinary, food and beverage, or related professional area
  • Ability to speak, read, write, and understand the primary workplace language
  • Ability to create marketing strategies and promotional menu items
  • Positive attitude and leadership presence
  • Ability to work full time
  • Must comply with federal, state and local employment and civil rights laws

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2-year degree from an accredited university in Culinary Arts, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related field
  • Minimum 4 years experience in culinary or food and beverage professional area
  • Demonstrated leadership and team management skills
  • Ability to develop marketing strategies and promotional menu items
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Positive attitude and ability to serve as a leader within the hotel leadership group

Job Duties

  • Responsible for the development and enhancement of the food product presented to guests
  • Maintain quality of food product and ensure consistency in food delivery and standards
  • Lead and develop culinary staff including training, performance appraisal, and disciplinary actions
  • Review staffing levels to meet service and operational needs
  • Supervise and coordinate food preparation activities
  • Develop and implement purchasing and receiving guidelines
  • Manage food costs, supplies, uniforms, and equipment expenses
  • Work with vendors to obtain quality ingredients at reasonable prices
  • Provide direction for menu development and food presentation
  • Communicate and enforce safety procedures
  • Interact with guests to obtain feedback on product quality and service
  • Empower employees to provide excellent customer service
  • Control departmental profit and loss
  • Set margins and manage budget projections
