Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred or associate degree with equivalent experience
  • Minimum five years' experience as an Executive Chef in hospitality
  • Current ServSafe Certification
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills
  • Ability to manage budgets and control costs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and hygiene best practices
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments
  • Experience with menu planning and recipe development

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Culinary Arts preferred or associate degree with minimum five years' experience as an Executive Chef
  • Minimum five years' experience as an Executive Chef within the hospitality industry
  • Current ServSafe Certification

Job Duties

  • Assist in planning, preparation, and execution of special events, banquets, and theme meals
  • Use innovation, imagination, originality, and talent to produce menus and recipes that utilize the highest quality ingredients allowed within the overall food and labor budget
  • Understand and maintain monthly and annual budgets for Food & Beverage department including documentation of monthly spend on food, supplies, and labor
  • Review and adjust menus to accommodate seasonal ingredients, recipe improvements, supply chain shortages, rebated and contracted products and cost of goods increases
  • Maintain purchasing standards and use approved vendors, maintain strong relationships with vendors
  • Accurately report and submit monthly inventory of food and beverage supplies
  • Interview, hire, train, schedule, assign, and supervise all culinary and back of the house staff, conduct performance reviews and corrective actions
  • Work with executive leadership and department heads to maintain customer satisfaction and department of health survey scores
  • Ensure preventive maintenance programs for kitchen equipment
  • Enforce food safety, hygiene, and storage policies
  • Manage food preparation with attention to minimizing overproduction and waste
  • Oversee daily record production and maintenance
  • Provide ongoing training for kitchen staff
  • Collaborate with Hospitality Manager to ensure excellent food and customer service delivery
  • Work with marketing and activities teams to meet resident special needs and coordinate unique events
  • Meet regularly with residents and family members to confirm high satisfaction levels
  • Advise community leadership of resident concerns
  • Assist kitchen and restaurant staff with operations as needed
