Job Requirements

  • Four or more years of experience in a similar restaurant or hospitality cuisine management setting
  • California Food Handler Manager Certification
  • Ability to work flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office and point-of-sale systems
  • Ability to follow instructions and solve practical problems
  • Professional appearance and ethical conduct
  • Willingness to be hands-on and lead a team effectively

Job Qualifications

  • Four or more years of experience in a similar restaurant or hospitality cuisine management setting
  • Experience in private club or hotel industry preferred but not required
  • College degree preferred
  • Proficient in setting priorities, multitasking, problem-solving, and strategizing
  • California Food Handler Manager certification required
  • Ability to read, write, and effectively present information
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher
  • Working knowledge of point-of-sale systems
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to collaborate professionally with management and employees
  • Exceptional multitasking ability

Job Duties

  • Plan menus for all food outlets at the club
  • Schedule and coordinate the work of all chefs, cooks, and kitchen employees to ensure economical and technically correct food preparation
  • Approve requisition of food products and supplies
  • Ensure high standards of sanitation, cleanliness, and safety in all kitchen areas
  • Establish controls to minimize food and supply waste and theft
  • Implement training programs to increase staff knowledge of safety, sanitation, and accident prevention
  • Develop standard recipes and techniques to assure consistent high quality and minimize food costs
  • Prepare budget data and monitor food, labor, and other costs
  • Attend food and beverage staff and management meetings
  • Consult with food and beverage and catering directors on special events
  • Cook or supervise skilled food preparation
  • Ensure proper staffing and control food and payroll costs
  • Evaluate food products to ensure quality standards
  • Interact with management to meet member and guest expectations
  • Develop policies and procedures to enhance and measure culinary quality
  • Maintain cleaning and maintenance schedules for kitchen equipment
  • Oversee orientation and ongoing training of kitchen staff
  • Visit dining areas to engage with members
  • Support safe work habits and environment
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Interview, select, train, supervise, counsel, and discipline kitchen staff
  • Promote positive team environment focused on club success
  • Ensure all member services are professional and efficient
  • Act as active recruiter and developer of kitchen team
  • Maintain professional workforce and safe working environment
  • Attend General Employee and Department meetings
  • Maintain professional appearance and ethical conduct
  • Promote goodwill and positive energy among membership and staff
  • Maintain and manage membership documents
  • Be highly visible to interact with members and guests
