Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Degree in culinary arts or related field preferred
  • Minimum of five years’ experience in a similar role with leadership responsibilities
  • Proven ability to run a profitable kitchen
  • Proficient with MS Excel and Outlook
  • Valid food handler’s card
  • Willingness to obtain First Aid/CPR certification
  • Flexibility to work varied schedules including weekends and holidays
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds
  • Ability to stand for long periods
  • Knowledge of emergency preparedness procedures
  • Maintain a positive and professional attitude

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Degree in culinary arts or related field preferred
  • At least five years’ experience as a food services director, manager, or chef with leadership responsibilities
  • Demonstrated success in running a profitable kitchen
  • Knowledgeable in the use of computers, including MS Excel and Outlook
  • Valid food handler’s card
  • Willingness to obtain First Aid/CPR certification
  • Knowledge of emergency preparedness procedures
  • Positive and professional attitude when dealing with residents, family members, visitors, and team members

Job Duties

  • Lead and manage kitchen staff to ensure efficient food preparation and service
  • Develop and plan menus that meet residents’ nutritional needs and preferences
  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain a clean, safe kitchen environment
  • Manage food service budgets and inventory control to maintain profitability
  • Train and motivate kitchen staff to uphold high standards of culinary excellence and teamwork
  • Collaborate with other departments to enhance resident satisfaction and address dietary requirements
  • Implement emergency preparedness procedures related to the food service area
