Job Requirements
- High school diploma
- Minimum three years supervisory experience as Executive Chef or equivalent
- Over seven years managing high-volume kitchens
- Current sanitation certification or ability to obtain within six months
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and procedures
- Ability to train and supervise kitchen staff
- Proficient in inventory and budget management
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand for long periods and work in various kitchen conditions
- Effective communication skills
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma
- Culinary arts degree preferred
- Minimum three years supervisory experience as Executive Chef or equivalent
- Over seven years managing high-volume, fast-paced commercial kitchens
- Five or more years cooking experience in fine dining preferred
- Current or obtain sanitation certification within six months
- Knowledge of HACCP, ServSafe, quality assurance, safety protocols
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Proficiency in computer use including purchasing and inventory management
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
Job Duties
- Supervises and oversees kitchen staff in food preparation and service
- Assists in special food preparation and service for various departments and occasions
- Ensures special diet orders are completed according to guidelines
- Directs daily food production operations including menu planning, purchasing, ordering, inventory, and food preparation
- Oversees food portioning, garnishing, presentation, and safe storage
- Orders food and equipment as needed
- Ensures cleanliness and organization of kitchen, equipment, storage, and dining areas
- Trains culinary staff and serves as a technical expert
- Delegates authority, assigns tasks, monitors standards, and manages staff certifications
- Provides feedback and performance evaluations to motivate and correct staff
- Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations as well as company policies
- Maintains safe work environment through training and equipment maintenance
- Promotes residents' rights and follows safety procedures
- Manages budget by controlling costs and complying with financial requirements
- Establishes operating standards and implements quality improvements
