Job Requirements

  • Current and approved sanitation certification or ability to obtain within six months of hire
  • Safe food handling certification
  • Ability to work flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Physical ability to lift or carry up to 50 pounds
  • Standing for extended periods and working in kitchen environment
  • Attention to detail and manual dexterity
  • Compliance with federal, state, and local regulations including HACCP and ServSafe
  • Ability to provide safety-related training and equipment maintenance

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma
  • Culinary arts degree preferred
  • Minimum three years supervisory experience as an Executive Chef or equivalent role at a high-volume restaurant
  • Seven plus years managing high volume and fast-paced commercial kitchens
  • Five plus years cooking experience in fine dining environment preferred
  • Knowledge of kitchen stations, cooking methods, ingredients, and equipment
  • Proficient in computer and inventory management software
  • Strong communication and organizational skills

Job Duties

  • Supervises and oversees kitchen staff in food preparation and service
  • Assists with special food requests and special occasions
  • Directs daily food production operations including menu planning, purchasing, and inventory
  • Ensures compliance with sanitation and food safety procedures
  • Trains and evaluates kitchen staff
  • Manages budget by controlling costs and complying with budgetary requirements
  • Maintains sanitary, neat, and organized kitchen and dining areas
