Job Requirements
- Current and approved sanitation certification or ability to obtain within six months of hire
- Safe food handling certification
- Ability to work flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Physical ability to lift or carry up to 50 pounds
- Standing for extended periods and working in kitchen environment
- Attention to detail and manual dexterity
- Compliance with federal, state, and local regulations including HACCP and ServSafe
- Ability to provide safety-related training and equipment maintenance
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma
- Culinary arts degree preferred
- Minimum three years supervisory experience as an Executive Chef or equivalent role at a high-volume restaurant
- Seven plus years managing high volume and fast-paced commercial kitchens
- Five plus years cooking experience in fine dining environment preferred
- Knowledge of kitchen stations, cooking methods, ingredients, and equipment
- Proficient in computer and inventory management software
- Strong communication and organizational skills
Job Duties
- Supervises and oversees kitchen staff in food preparation and service
- Assists with special food requests and special occasions
- Directs daily food production operations including menu planning, purchasing, and inventory
- Ensures compliance with sanitation and food safety procedures
- Trains and evaluates kitchen staff
- Manages budget by controlling costs and complying with budgetary requirements
- Maintains sanitary, neat, and organized kitchen and dining areas
