Job Requirements
- 2-3 years lead sous or executive chef experience
- culinary degree preferred
- serv safe certification within first available class
- valid food handler’s card if required in state
- ability to stand over two-thirds of the time
- ability to walk over two-thirds of the time
- ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- availability to work 45-50 hours per week
- ability to communicate effectively in English
- knowledge of workplace safety procedures
- strong manual dexterity and arm-hand steadiness
- ability to maintain composure under high stress
- dependable and cooperative work attitude
Job Qualifications
- 2-3 years experience in a lead sous chef or executive chef role
- culinary degree is an advantage
- proficiency in menu planning and food preparation
- strong leadership and team management skills
- ability to develop and modify recipes
- knowledge of budget management and purchasing
- skilled in using compliance, inventory management, and data base software
- ability to train and mentor kitchen staff
- excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities
- strong communication skills for working with clients and teams
- demonstrated knowledge of health and sanitation standards
- ability to operate commercial kitchen equipment
- ability to use the Greek House Chefs App effectively
Job Duties
- Ensures overall health of the account is positive and in good standing
- plans and directs food preparation and culinary activities
- modifies menus or creates new ones that meet quality standards
- recruits and manages kitchen staff
- purchases and orders food supplies while managing budget
- manages employees’ schedules and hours
- manages the GHC App
- ensures the overall cleanliness of the kitchen meets and exceeds GHC health and equipment cleaning standards
- makes periodic and regular inspections of units to observe food quality and cleanliness
- coordinates all training activities for kitchen and production staff
- follows proper training manual procedures for equipment requests
- develops recipes and portion specifications according to GHC standards
- creates and submits menu two weeks ahead for GHC App approval
- submits weekly budget via the GHC App on time
- checks weekly reports of app reviews
- schedules and attends monthly food committee reviews
- maintains professional appearance and compliance with uniform standards
- receives trucks and checks for quantity and quality
- keeps availability open for up to 3 special events per semester
- maintains positive and professional relationships with vendors, directors, and clients
- works with management to establish service procedures
- monitors schedule and time management responsibilities of self and staff
- demonstrates strong knowledge of GHC Handbook
- transfers to other worksites as necessary
- performs other duties as assigned
