Job Requirements

  • 8 or more years of leadership experience with four years of kitchen team leadership preferably in higher education or business dining setting
  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree in culinary arts or equivalent job-related experience
  • Proven ability to train others and lead a team
  • Proficiency in Microsoft software programs
  • Strong planning and organizational skills
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Proficient skills in math and financial management including labor and food cost controls

Job Duties

  • Interact with and develop relationships with clients to provide personalized high quality culinary events
  • Work directly with students, parents, and culinary team to meet individual dietary needs including allergies and medical conditions
  • Visit all dining areas to assess customer satisfaction levels and implement changes
  • Develop cooperative relationships with key client personnel and staff
  • Respond to client, customer, and guest meal surveys and implement improvement plans
  • Model Smile Plus hospitality imperatives
  • Assist with development of annual budgets and work within budget
  • Control labor and food cost in accordance with budget and make necessary adjustments
  • Purchase all food according to budget and approved guidelines
  • Prepare menu and food cost reports and review with general manager
  • Ensure proper portions of food are served and monitor waste to minimize costs
