Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- some custodial or housekeeping experience preferred
- ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- ability to lift and carry moderate weights
- ability to work early morning shifts
- good physical and mental health
- ability to follow safety protocols
- ability to work independently and as part of a team
Job Qualifications
- Some knowledge of the materials, equipment, and methods commonly used in cleaning, disinfecting, and linen/laundry processing
- some experience in the performance of custodial work
- ability to operate a vacuum
- ability to work in confined spaces around furniture and breakable objects
- ability to have constant contact with residents
- ability to read and write in English
- ability to follow simple instructions
- ability to work in close quarters with others
Job Duties
- Sweep and mop resident rooms, halls, stairways, elevators, and other areas assigned
- clean and scour toilets, tubs, and showers in patient tub rooms and all public bathrooms, supplying paper and hand soap as necessary
- clean lounge furniture, nursing stations, medicine and treatment rooms, tub and shower rooms, clinic area, and other ancillary and activity areas
- maintain facility in a sanitary and infection-free condition through cleaning of equipment and furnishings
- help sort soiled linen, fold clean linens, and process resident laundry
- clean up human waste and other body fluids
- responsible for disposal of trash, waste, and other disposable materials
