Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Some experience in custodial or housekeeping work
- Physical ability to perform repetitive manual labor including lifting and moving objects
- Ability to operate cleaning equipment safely
- Capability to work varied shifts and be on-call 0-8 hours per week
- Ability to communicate effectively in English
- Willingness to handle human waste and biohazard materials safely
Job Qualifications
- Some knowledge of materials, equipment, and methods commonly used in cleaning, disinfecting, and linen/laundry processing
- Some experience in custodial work
- Ability to operate a vacuum and work in confined spaces
- Ability to maintain constant contact with residents
- Ability to read and write in English
- Ability to follow simple instructions and work in close quarters with others
Job Duties
- Sweep and mop resident rooms, halls, stairways, elevators, and other assigned areas
- Clean and scour toilets, tubs, and showers in patient tub rooms and all public bathrooms, supplying paper and hand soap as necessary
- Clean lounge furniture, nursing stations, medicine and treatment rooms, tub and shower rooms, clinic area, and other ancillary and activity areas
- Maintain facility in a sanitary and infection-free condition through cleaning of equipment and furnishings
- Help sort soiled linen, fold clean linens, and process resident laundry
- Clean up human waste and other body fluids, and dispose of trash, waste, and other disposable materials
