Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- minimum one year of housekeeping experience
- ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays
- knowledge of infection control and sanitation standards
- physical capability to perform heavy lifting, standing and moving for prolonged periods
- capability to use personal protective equipment appropriately
- good communication skills
- team player attitude
Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- perform various housekeeping duties to provide a safe and clean environment
- ensure timely cleaning of medical units, patient rooms, public areas, offices, laboratories, restrooms and assigned areas
- maintain cleanliness in patient care areas including rooms, restrooms, beds, waiting and examination areas
- clean clinical and office areas including furniture, fixtures, countertops, telephones and file cabinets
- remove and dispose of trash and clean trash carts and cans
- arrange furniture and equipment orderly after cleaning
- report furniture needing shampooing or repair
- keep hallways uncluttered
- prioritize and organize work assignments to provide timely housekeeping services
- respond to dispatched calls
- communicate need for assistance to manager to avoid service delays
- assist co-workers as workload requires
- follow prescribed disinfecting procedures using universal precautions and personal protective equipment
- maintain required records and adhere to department policies on infection control and patient safety
- clean and maintain department equipment and use supplies cost-effectively
- report equipment malfunctions
- provide coverage for relief and absences
- demonstrate flexibility to work nights, weekends and holidays
