Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Prior hospital or healthcare cleaning experience is a plus
  • Ability to read and comprehend labels, safety signage, and instructions
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to following protocols
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, push/pull equipment, and stand or walk for extended periods
  • Willingness to work flexible shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Dedication to providing a clean, safe, and patient-centered environment

Job Duties

  • Clean and disinfect patient rooms, surgical areas, nursing units, administrative offices, restrooms, and public spaces
  • Perform terminal cleaning of discharge rooms and isolation areas per hospital protocol
  • Safely collect and dispose of trash, biohazard waste, and soiled linen in accordance with infection control standards
  • Replenish cleaning and hygiene supplies, including soap, paper towels, toilet paper, and disinfectants
  • Operate and maintain cleaning equipment such as vacuums, floor scrubbers, and carpet extractors
  • Follow strict infection prevention and control procedures, including the correct use of PPE
  • Respond promptly to service requests including spills, emergency cleanups, and special project needs
  • Maintain detailed daily logs of work performed and promptly report maintenance or safety issues
  • Support emergency cleaning needs and assist with special projects as directed
  • Comply with hospital policies, HIPAA regulations, and safety protocols at all times
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors or management
