Job Requirements
- Less than 1 year experience preferred
- Minimum 6 months of related experience preferred
- Can demonstrate effective use of computers and/or movable devices for job performance activities preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Certification with the Association for the Health Care Environment (AHE) as Certified Health Care Environmental Services Technician (CHEST) or Certified Surgical Cleaning Technician (CSCT) preferred
- Willingness to work Monday-Friday 5:00 am-1:30 pm on-site
- Ability to follow infection prevention practices and safety protocols
- Commitment to patient privacy and organizational policies adherence.
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Minimum six months of related experience preferred
- Familiarity with computer or mobile device use for job activities preferred
- Certification from the Association for Health Care Environment (AHE) as Certified Health Care Environmental Services Technician (CHEST) or Certified Surgical Cleaning Technician (CSCT) preferred
- Ability to adhere to infection control and safety guidelines
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Detail-oriented with commitment to cleanliness standards.
Job Duties
- Responsible for cleaning and disinfection of patient care areas including daily occupied and discharge/transfer, clinical, ancillary, support services
- Cleansing duties including dusting, vacuuming, gathering and disposing of trash and waste materials, removing linens, cleaning and disinfecting bathrooms and/or patient rooms, cleaning and disinfecting fixtures, wet mopping
- Maintain assigned equipment and cleaning carts for cleanliness and arrange repairs as needed
- Keep stock and restock supplies and equipment
- Remove waste and transport to proper disposal areas identifying regulated medical, recycle, solid, hazardous waste
- Take corrective action for unsatisfactory cleanliness when observed
- Utilize bed tracking systems like EPIC to identify cleaning needs, respond to pager or overhead pages, assist in emergency spills cleaning
- Adhere to patient privacy requirements (HIPAA), organization safety, risk management and infection control guidelines
- Follow all infection prevention practices including hand hygiene, standard and isolation precautions, and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Respectfully listen to viewpoints and ideas of others
- Perform floor care and maintenance including cleaning stairwells, elevators and hanging curtains.
