Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Less than one year of experience required
- At least one year previous housekeeping experience preferred
- Ability to demonstrate effective use of computers and/or movable devices preferred
- Certification from AHE (CHEST or CSCT) preferred
- Ability to adhere to infection control and safety standards
- Commitment to patient privacy and confidentiality
- Reliable and punctual work ethic
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Less than one year experience required, at least one year housekeeping experience preferred
- Effective use of computers or movable digital devices preferred
- Certification from Association for the Health Care Environment (AHE) such as CHEST or CSCT preferred
- Knowledge of infection control and cleaning standards
- Ability to operate cleaning equipment safely and maintain related tools
- Strong attention to detail and safety
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
Job Duties
- Perform all types of floor care and maintenance including hard surfaces and carpeting
- Complete special cleaning projects such as carpet cleaning, shampooing, extraction, floor finish removal and application, wall washing, cleaning stairwells and elevators, and hanging curtains
- Adhere to safety, risk management and infection control standards
- Inspect and maintain cleaning equipment to ensure proper function
- Operate cleaning equipment safely according to facility and manufacturer standards
- Remove waste and dispose of it properly identifying waste streams
- Follow infection prevention practices including cleaning processes, hand hygiene, and PPE use
- Adhere to patient privacy requirements under HIPAA
- Record daily housekeeping activities and maintenance requests
- Perform routine cleaning duties such as dusting, vacuuming, trash removal, cleaning and disinfecting bathrooms and patient rooms
- Utilize bed tracking systems to identify cleaning needs and respond to emergency spills and cleaning requests
