Job Requirements
- Ability to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- ability to stand and walk for 75 percent or more of the shift
- ability to lift, carry, push or pull 1-10 pounds
- ability to grasp and squeeze objects
- ability to sit, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch and climb stairs for up to 50 percent of the shift
- occasional climbing of ladders or step stools and lifting 25-50 pounds
- ability to operate motor vehicles
- ability to clearly speak and hear normal speech levels
- ability to comply with all applicable laws and hospital policies
- willingness to work third shift hours including nights and weekends as required
- ability to perform repetitive cleaning tasks with high attention to detail
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred but equivalent education and experience will be considered
- CHEST certification required within 6 months of hire
- prior professional janitorial or housekeeping experience preferred
- ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required
- ability to follow cleaning standards and procedures

Job Duties
- Inspect assigned areas during shift for cleanliness and make proper corrections
- follow guidelines and job standards to ensure facility cleanliness
- perform cleaning tasks as described in the task list
- clean toilets, basins, showers, bathtubs, walls, furniture, fixtures, doors, stairways, halls and other interior furnishings
- sweep, clean, mop, scrub and dust floors
- transport, remove and dispose of soiled linen, trash and bio-medical waste appropriately
- remove empty boxes and place in designated areas
- label and remove infectious waste bags and containers
- maintain adequate stock of supplies and transport custodial supplies and equipment
- operate, clean and maintain equipment and vacuums
- report equipment concerns
- foster and maintain positive working relationships with patients, guests and caregivers
- participate in Quality Improvement activities
- report needed repairs and services per guidelines
- perform special cleaning projects as needed
- perform various types of floor care
- support the vision, mission and values of the organization
- support Value Improvement Practice (VIP- Lean) principles
- provide and maintain a safe environment for caregivers, patients and guests
- conduct activities with professionalism and confidentiality
- comply with all laws, regulations, policies and procedures
- deliver customer service in a timely, efficient and accurate manner
- perform additional duties of similar complexity as required or assigned
