Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- CHEST certification required within 6 months of hire
- prior professional janitorial or housekeeping experience preferred
- ability to wear personal protective equipment

- basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals and equipment operation
Job Duties
- Inspects assigned areas during shift for cleanliness and makes proper corrections
- follows guidelines and job standards established by department management and hospital
- performs cleaning tasks as described in the task list
- cleans toilets, basins, showers, bathtubs, walls, furniture, fixtures, doors, stairways, halls, and other related furnishings
- sweeps, cleans, mops, scrubs, and dusts floors of assigned areas
- transports, removes, and disposes of soiled linen, trash, and bio-medical waste appropriately
- labels and removes infectious waste bags and containers
- maintains stock of supplies and transports custodial supplies and equipment
- operates, cleans, and maintains equipment and industrial vacuums
- fosters positive working relationships with patients, guests, and caregivers
- participates in Quality Improvement activities
- reports needed repairs and services
- performs special cleaning projects and various types of floor care
- supports organization vision, mission, and values
- supports VIP-Lean principles of continuous improvement
- maintains a safe environment for caregivers, patients, and guests
- conducts activities with professionalism and confidentiality
- complies with all applicable laws and regulations
- delivers customer service and patient care promoting goodwill
- performs additional duties as assigned
