- High school diploma or GED or equivalent
- one year comparable experience
- ability to provide cleaning and housekeeping services to designated hospital areas
- ability to understand and communicate in written and spoken English

Job Duties
- Demonstrates the WMH customer service values
- dust furniture, woodwork, equipment and dust mops floors
- polishes and cleans fixtures in utility rooms and bathrooms
- wet mopped rooms, halls, stairways and public areas
- cleans vents, fans and other equipment using vacuum machines
- cleans fixtures, tops or windows, door frames and high areas using a ladder as required
- gathers and disposes of trash and waste materials including medical waste
- moves furniture and other heavy objects as required
- removes waste and soiled linens from work area and places in specified bags or containers
- performs terminal cleaning procedures of patient rooms and prepares room for new occupant
- follows isolation procedures in isolation rooms
- cleans and disinfects all fixtures, floors, mirrors, windows, doors, and walls of bathroom
- remains professional and tactful while responding to environmental on demand needs
- assists patients, visitor, staff as needed
- assists in the enforcement of hospital departmental policies and procedures
- floor care and floor maintenance including dust mopping, stripping floors, cleaning base boards, waxing floors, burnishing floors, and using floor care equipment
- relief by assisting the department in absence of staff by helping cover open work schedules
