Job Requirements

- Ability to provide cleaning and housekeeping services to designated hospital areas
- Ability to understand and communicate in written and spoken English

Job Duties
- Demonstrates the WMH customer service values which are key in providing quality service to patients and customers
- Dust furniture woodwork equipment and dust mops floors polishes and cleans fixtures in utility rooms and bathrooms
- Wet mopped rooms halls stairways and public areas
- Cleans vents fans and other equipment using vacuum machines
- Cleans fixtures tops or windows door frames and high areas using a ladder as required
- Gathers and disposes of trash and waste materials including medical waste
- Moves furniture and other heavy objects as required
- Removes waste and soiled linens from work area and places in specified bags or containers
- Performs terminal cleaning procedures of patient rooms and prepares room for new occupant follows isolation procedures in isolation rooms
- Cleans and disinfects all fixtures floors mirrors windows doors and walls of bathroom
- Remains professional and tactful while responding to environmental on demand needs
- Assists patients visitor staff as needed
- Assists in the enforcement of hospital departmental policies and procedures
- Dust mop strip floors clean base boards wax floors burnish floors use floor care equipment
- Relief assist the department in absence of staff by helping cover open work schedules
