Job Requirements

  • Prior experience in cleaning or housekeeping services preferred
  • Effective language skills for communication with patients and care team preferred

Job Duties

  • Performs day-to-day housekeeping services to hospital and campus buildings to ensure cleanliness and compliance with laws and standards
  • Sweeps, vacuums, and washes floors using appropriate equipment and supplies
  • Dusts, polishes, and cleans interior surfaces such as windows, furniture, walls, and ceilings
  • Cleans toilets, lavatories, washrooms, janitor closets, and patient rooms
  • Conducts cleaning of precaution rooms, including COVID-19, discharges, and terminal cleaning of rooms and furniture
  • Removes and rehungs window treatments and curtains
  • Distributes clean linen and transports soiled linen
  • Empties and relines trash receptacles with safe handling of all waste types including medical waste
  • Moves office and patient care unit furniture as needed
  • Arranges and prepares conference rooms and other areas
  • Performs specialized cleaning tasks such as floor stripping/refinishing, upholstery shampooing, and use of Kiavac machine
  • Undertakes other assignments as required to meet facility needs
