Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or general education diploma (GED)
  • capability to understand and interpret written, oral, diagram, or schedule instructions
  • skilled in communication with team members, supervisors, patients, and other hospital personnel
  • strong time management and organizational skills
  • ability to operate environmental service equipment including mechanical floor cleaners, buffers, vacuums, washers, and dryers
  • capacity to prioritize tasks according to policies and deadlines
  • ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • problem-solving skills to evaluate and resolve issues using established solutions
  • capacity to build cooperative relationships with peers and staff

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • maintains a clean and safe environment in assigned areas
  • performs cleaning, transport, equipment handling, room set-up, trash removal, and linen handling
  • cleans patient rooms, offices, hallways and other facility areas
  • distributes supplies and maintains stock levels
  • uses environmental service equipment including floor cleaners, buffers, vacuums, washers, and dryers
  • communicates effectively with team members, supervisors, patients, and other hospital staff
  • adheres to all local, state, and federal regulations and policies regarding sanitization and safety
