Job Requirements
- Must have EVS experience in hospital setting
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team without continuous supervision
- Ability to interpret and respond to verbal and written instructions
- Ability to communicate effectively with others by phone and verbally
- Must be able to read and understand material safety data sheets and instructions for mixing and using cleaning chemicals
- Completion of post-offer occupational health physical assessment, drug screen and background check including employment, criminal and education
- Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card for applicable behavioral health and senior center positions
- Sign Arizona Criminal History Affidavit where applicable
Job Qualifications
- Previous related experience in hospital environmental services
- Familiarity with environmental services equipment and cleaning techniques
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and by phone
- Ability to interpret and respond to verbal and written instructions
- Knowledge of material safety data sheets and cleaning chemical use
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Additional related education and experience preferred
Job Duties
- Performs a variety of assigned cleaning tasks including dusting, mopping, scrubbing, disinfecting, vacuuming and polishing according to departmental policy and procedures
- Empties hampers and transports soiled linen
- Empties trash containers and removes all trash including medical waste containers and sharps
- Inventories, restocks and replenishes supplies such as toilet tissue, paper towels, and hand soap located in all assigned areas
- Maintains cleanliness of departmental equipment and notifies appropriate personnel of needed repairs
- Performs special projects such as window washing, wall washing, and removing heavily soiled items
- Responds to questions and requests from patients, staff and visitors
- Meets or exceeds customer service satisfaction goals
