Job Requirements

  • Must have EVS experience in hospital setting
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team without continuous supervision
  • Ability to interpret and respond to verbal and written instructions
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others by phone and verbally
  • Must be able to read and understand material safety data sheets and instructions for mixing and using cleaning chemicals
  • Completion of post-offer occupational health physical assessment, drug screen and background check including employment, criminal and education
  • Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card for applicable behavioral health and senior center positions
  • Sign Arizona Criminal History Affidavit where applicable

Job Qualifications

  • Previous related experience in hospital environmental services
  • Familiarity with environmental services equipment and cleaning techniques
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and by phone
  • Ability to interpret and respond to verbal and written instructions
  • Knowledge of material safety data sheets and cleaning chemical use
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Additional related education and experience preferred

Job Duties

  • Performs a variety of assigned cleaning tasks including dusting, mopping, scrubbing, disinfecting, vacuuming and polishing according to departmental policy and procedures
  • Empties hampers and transports soiled linen
  • Empties trash containers and removes all trash including medical waste containers and sharps
  • Inventories, restocks and replenishes supplies such as toilet tissue, paper towels, and hand soap located in all assigned areas
  • Maintains cleanliness of departmental equipment and notifies appropriate personnel of needed repairs
  • Performs special projects such as window washing, wall washing, and removing heavily soiled items
  • Responds to questions and requests from patients, staff and visitors
  • Meets or exceeds customer service satisfaction goals
