Job Requirements
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team without continuous supervision
- Ability to interpret and respond to verbal and written instructions
- Ability to communicate effectively with others by phone and verbally
- Ability to read and understand material safety data sheets and instructions for mixing and use of cleaning chemicals
- Ability to fill out chemical identification stickers
- Completion of post-offer occupational health physical assessment
- Completion of drug screen
- Completion of background check including employment, criminal and education
- Must have environmental services experience in hospital setting
- Certain positions require possession of an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card at time of hire and maintenance of the card during employment
- Signing of Arizona Criminal History Affidavit upon hire
Job Qualifications
- Previous experience in environmental services within a hospital setting
- Familiarity with environmental services equipment and cleaning techniques
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and by phone
- Ability to interpret and respond to verbal and written instructions
- Ability to read and understand material safety data sheets and use cleaning chemicals safely
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Additional related education and or experience preferred
Job Duties
- Perform a variety of assigned cleaning tasks including dusting, mopping, scrubbing, disinfecting, vacuuming and polishing
- Empty hampers and transport soiled linen
- Empty trash containers and remove all trash including medical waste and sharps
- Inventory, restock and replenish supplies such as toilet tissue, paper towels, and hand soap
- Maintain cleanliness of departmental equipment and notify appropriate personnel of repairs
- Perform special projects such as window washing, wall washing, and removing heavily soiled items
- Respond to questions and requests from patients, staff and visitors and meet or exceed customer service goals
