Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to perform physical tasks related to trash collection and cleaning
- Ability to use personal protective equipment properly
- Must be able to communicate in English
- Ability to work night shifts
- Willingness to attend all required safety training
- Ability to follow exposure control and safety protocols
- Ability to collaborate and work well with others
- Ability to handle emergency cleanup situations
- Flexibility to adjust assignments as needed
- Capability to learn job functions within 30 days
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Prior hospital experience preferred
- Ability to demonstrate core values such as integrity, compassion, balance, excellence, stewardship, and teamwork
- Ability to perform cleaning functions using established 10-step process
- Familiarity with Sniper disinfecting process
- Ability to adjust to staff shortages and cover other areas
- Capability to maintain department and organizational standards
- Effective communication skills in English
- Ability to read and follow instructions
- Ability to document work and report issues
- Ability to interact with patients and customers appropriately based on age-based competencies
Job Duties
- Collect trash carts and deliver them to assigned areas according to schedule
- Respond to requests for special trash pickups and reline trash containers as needed
- Transport trash carts from collection point to designated area
- Attend all required safety training programs and follow hospital exposure control and pathogen protocols
- Promote effective working relations and collaborate within and across departments
- Monitor and report any equipment issues or shortages and ensure supplies are stocked
- Assist in cleanup of emergency spills as requested or observed
- Use personal protective equipment in all aspects of job performance
- Document daily assignments completed
- Use Capacity Management system to maintain productive flow of beds and patients
- Access medication room for cleaning purposes only as oriented
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or director
