Job Requirements

  • At least 18 years of age
  • valid WA State Food Handler's card or be willing to obtain
  • prior experience as a cook, sous chef, or grill cook (1-2 years preferred)
  • ability to prepare high quality food
  • flexibility with schedule including occasional weekends
  • ability to maintain professional relationships with food and equipment vendors
  • excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • ability to prepare therapeutic and modified diets
  • CPR and first aid training may be required
  • completion of background check, fingerprinting, and TB 2-step test
  • physical ability to push, pull, or carry up to 30 pounds

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Prepare assigned stations for shift
  • under direction of dining services manager, prepare individual components of various entrees and food items, adhering to the individual dietary restrictions of residents
  • maintain kitchen food safety and sanitary food handling in compliance with State, Federal, and DSHS regulations
  • perform other duties as assigned
  • prepare therapeutic and modified diets
  • maintain professional relationships with food and equipment vendors as needed
  • communicate effectively with staff and residents
