Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in hospitality or event management or related field
  • minimum of two years experience in venue operations management including practicums
  • CPR, First Aid, and AED certification obtained within one year of employment
  • ServSafe Food Safety certification obtained within one year of employment
  • valid South Carolina Class D Driver's License
  • knowledge of event management, emergency procedures, and local laws
  • ability to exercise sound judgement and work independently
  • physical ability to perform tasks involving lifting, standing, walking, and exposure to outdoor conditions
  • effective communication and team management skills

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in hospitality or event management or related experience
  • two years of experience in venue operations management including practicums
  • CPR, First Aid, and AED certification within one year of employment
  • ServSafe Food Safety certification within one year of employment
  • valid South Carolina Class D Driver's License
  • knowledge of special event management principles and best practices
  • understanding of laws, ordinances, regulations related to city programs and events
  • ability to resolve citizen inquiries and complaints diplomatically
  • proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and event-related equipment
  • ability to work independently and prioritize workload effectively

Job Duties

  • Serve as secondary event lead assisting with logistics and on-site supervision
  • coordinate and manage event staff, interns, and volunteers
  • organize setup and breakdown of event equipment including tents, tables, chairs, signs, audio-visual tools
  • evaluate operational infrastructure and troubleshoot issues
  • coordinate vendor load-in and load-out and ensure compliance with policies
  • assist in venue operations maintaining cleanliness and event standards
  • support retail operations including inventory management and staff coordination
